RESOURCES: "I Learned More From You and ChatGPT Than My Doctors"

A woman I’d never met before attended my first show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival last week, and she found my email address. She wrote that she didn’t come to the show for fun; she came for information. “I learned more from you and ChatGPT than my doctors,” she said in her email.

She wrote about long waits to see a medical professional, and unhelpful appointments once she got in. She’s been to three different urologists, and yet still learned a lot from PSA: Pelvic Service Announcement.

Now, I’ve worked hard on this show and had multiple doctors and pelvic floor physical therapists fact check what I’m putting out there, but I should not be the primary pelvic floor resource for someone who has identified that she has a problem and has sought help for it. Multiple times. C’mon Women’s Healthcare! Get it together!!

In any case, I shared with her this list of Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioners put out by Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. (https://hermanwallace.com/list-of-certified-pelvic-rehabilitation-practitioners)

I hope there’s someone convenient to you, and you have insurance that covers the services or you’re so well off that you prefer paying for everything out of pocket. (Is that a demographic that exists?)
